"I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of hunger for life that gnaws in us all."
- Richard Wright
Prompts of the Day: Someone is running very, very late (hey, it worked for Lewis Carroll)
or
Watch television, just long enough to catch a commercial break. Put a scene, situation, character, or jingle from one of the commercials (not all of that- just one part) into your story.
Tip of the Day:
Inspiration comes from all over the place, not just a neuron in your head. If you're feeling really stuck, go out for a while. Watch people. Maybe have dinner or breakfast with the family and ask them how their days have been since the last time you talked to them, in October. Make sure you let them spend as much time talking about themselves as you do talking about your book.
