Day 1

"Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One should never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand." – George Orwell

"The scariest moment is always just before you start." – Stephen King

"You can fix anything but a blank page." – Nora Roberts

Welcome to National Novel Writing Month!

For the next month, this blog will be filled with quotes, tips, and prompts for those participating in the madness known as NaNoWriMo. Don't know what NaNo is? Visit the official site at www.nanowrimo.org

For those of you who have started on the way to 50k/30 days, you're in good company! I have participated in NaNoWriMo since 2006, with notable products including
Token of Darkness and All Just Glass. The Nyeusigrube forum also has an area dedicated to NaNo, including daily writing rants. Please join us!

For those of you who have jumped into this keyboard first, and have no idea where you're going, try opening with...

Prompts of the Day

(if you're in my creative writing class, you've seen this one - sorry! I liked it)
